Step Up Together Organization (SUTO) is dedicated to promoting low-carbon resilient development through various initiatives aimed at empowering women, youth, and children in climate change response. One of their initiatives involves urban garden projects, where 5 youth and women groups, along with two community-based organisations, have been trained in climate-smart techniques like vertical farming using cone farming. This enables women to grow enough greens for their households while selling excess produce locally to support their table banking initiative, boosting their savings and contributions to chama (community savings groups). This, in turn, improves their access to loans for livelihood activities such as groceries, baking, and tailoring.
